I understand that traditional martial arts schools often fall short when it comes to meeting the needs of busy professionals and individuals seeking a deeper, more practical approach to self-defense. If you’ve found yourself frustrated with the limitations of weekly classes or cookie-cutter programs, we’re here to provide a solution that works for you.
1. Flexible Training That Fits Your Schedule
Life is busy, and committing to weekly classes can feel impossible when juggling work, family, and other obligations. That’s why we offer customized training schedules tailored to your availability. Whether you need intensive weekend workshops, one-on-one sessions, or access to our online academy, we ensure your training integrates seamlessly into your life. Dedicated time with a one on one instructor will provide growth faster than the average group class.
2. Depth of Knowledge Beyond Technique Repetition
Repetitive drills without understanding their purpose can only take you so far. Our programs emphasize not just how to perform techniques, but why they work, and how they fit into a larger strategy for personal safety. All levels of training dive into principles of biomechanics, psychology, and situational awareness to ensure you develop a comprehensive skill set. My goal is to transform you into a critical thinker who can adapt and respond effectively under pressure.
3. A Curriculum for the Full Spectrum of Violence
Violence isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither should your training be. The curriculum addresses the entire spectrum of conflict—from de-escalation and boundary-setting to physical engagement and post-incident considerations. Whether you’re navigating verbal threats, managing a sudden assault, or dealing with the aftermath, our training prepares you to respond with confidence and control.
4. Real-World Applications, Not Just Theory
Many martial arts schools focus on forms, sports, or techniques that don’t translate to real-world situations. The training methodology helps bridge the gap between tradition and practicality. Every technique, scenario, and strategy we teach is grounded in real-world application. From understanding how to spot pre-attack indicators to managing adrenaline in high-stress environments, our training is designed to empower you with skills you can trust when it matters most.
Ready to Take the Next Step?
If you’re ready to move beyond the limitations of traditional martial arts training and develop practical, adaptable skills for real-world situations, we’re here to help. Sifu David Mitchell has been my instructor for several years. His skills, knowledge, and passion for teaching are second to none! I appreciate David’s ability to identify and correct a student’s weaknesses while supporting and building on the student’s strengths.
Sifu David knows when to push and when to support each individual student. David’s passion for learning is communicated through his teaching. As a student of Sifu David Mitchell I have grown as a martial artist and look forward to every training opportunity.

Sifu David’s training sessions were carefully tailored to my personal goals. I was deeply impressed by his depth of knowledge and his flexibility in sharing that knowledge.

Before working 1:1 with Sifu Mitchell, I had gotten my black belt in another martial art after 3 1/2 years of steady training... but I still felt unable to protect myself and my family. If put into an uncomfortable situation, my body would go into fight/flight/freeze, and I'd suddenly lose all my black belt knowledge. I tended toward people-pleasing rather than allowing myself to defend myself or aggressively take up space. As a mid-thirties woman, I feel like that's more common than not.
Then I started working with Sifu Mitchell. Unlike in group classes where the high achievers are often overlooked, the 1:1 training session is fully dedicated to me and my personal self defense needs. These sessions are more than physical training or learning and repeating patterns. He's helped me through multiple emotional and mental blocks, trained me to get over the fear of hurting someone or doing the wrong thing. Over the course of our time together, I've stopped obsessively saying "sorry" and I've started standing up for myself in day-to-day life. And I genuinely feel confident that, if attacked, I would no longer freeze.
There's something truly magical about Sifu Mitchell, in his ability to hold space, to maintain complete professionalism, and to meet a person exactly where they are and customize training to their needs.
